CommunicAsia and the Asian market
WISI has once again participated in the CommunicAsia Exhibition and Conference, Singapore. As one of the biggest exhibitions in its class, which attracts global industry brands from telecommunications, broadcast and enterprise technology, it is a place where WISI holds a strong presence.
The Asian market is one of WISI’s most prominent and growing fast-pace. Therefore, this year´s exhibition has been a great opportunity to meet both new and old friends. A promising change in the industry is that business ideas are now turning to projects.
Ari Miettinen, Area Sales Manager, WISI Group, comments: “From talking to visitors I feel that more projects are being implemented and that our business model and products are well positioned. In recent years, our industry have launched several innovations. Where some players have invested heavily in IP solutions, while others have chosen to stay with solutions for satellite or perhaps terrestrial or cable. Going forward, I think WISI have a product and service portfolio that serves both current and future needs.
Trends and WISI’s highlighted solutions
CommunicAsia continues to be a trade show for telecom professionals. With this years’ focus on topics as: 5G, Connect Everywhere, Satcomm, and much more. Technology trends that we know will alter the way we operate within our industry. Innovation drives this change and as Asia is WISI’s most prominent market, we selected this year to highlight:

- Inca Networks ABR 3840 Transcoder
- FIREFLY – Smart Broadcasting Platform
- Chameleon – Software based headend solution

Ari Miettinen, Area Sales Manager, WISI Group, comments: “We are experiencing major changes in our industry, where new methods for distribution require new types of equipment that result in new forms of projects. Customers demand more solutions for upcoming projects that support high quality video transcoding, internet distribution, HEVC, and DRM-solutions.”
Products for future demand
With products prepared for both current and future demand, WISI again demonstrates its ability to keep pace with market movement. Through simple software purchases the modules for Tangram and Chameleon are continuously enhanced, and platforms such as Firefly and products from Inca Networks are here to change the way broadcasters, hospitality, and operators view carrier-grade headend solutions. Thank you to the organizers of CommunicAsia – See you next year, June 18-20.
